Centre International des Femmes, Québec (CIFQ)
The Centre International des Femmes, Québec (CIFQ) is a non-profit organization established in 1981 specifically to support immigrant women and their families.
The Ministry of health and social service recognizes the specific role of CIFQ in the health and social services for women and their families in Québec City area. CIFQ helps immigrants to access the local health and social services with a view to improving the health and well-being of Canadians and Quebecers. It also contributes to socio-cultural and economic integration of immigrant women and their families by breaking their isolation. To achieve its objectives, the Centre has developed numerous activities, services and projects with recurring funds.
CIFQ is always trying to encourage women to take control of their lives and their awareness of the mechanism of their welcoming society. The Center team includes interveners, linguistic and cultural interpreters, volunteers and several employees who speak several languages and bring their expertise to better serve the women.
