Thomas Chiasson-Lebel, Administrator

Thomas Chiasson-Lebel has been an active member of Alternatives since 1997. He has served on the Alternatives Board of Directors since 2005 and on its Executive Committee since 2007. He has been active in student and labour union movements, having first joined Alternatives as an intern. He traveled as a chaperon for several interns to Ecuador and Brazil to work on Peace and Development initiatives before contributing to the development of the internship program in Venezuela with Alternatives.

Ronald Cameron, President

 

Ronald Cameron has been Chairperson of the Board since 2010. Teacher at Cégep Saint-Laurent, Ronald has also worked as the Director General of the Institut de Coopération Pour L'Éducation Des Adultes (ICEA). He was also president of the Fédération nationale des enseignantes et des enseignants du Québec (FNEEQ-CSN) over the past decade. He also participated in the preparation of the Quebec Social Forum (QSF) 2007 and joined different delegations collaborating with Alternatives in Palestine and Venezuela. Ronald represented Alternatives in Tunisia as part of the preparatory assembly for World Social Forum 2013 and participated in the Peoples Summit Rio +20.

Marie Auer-Labonté, Member of the Executive Council

Marie Auer-Labonté was a member of the Board between 2010 and 2012. As a former intern with Alternatives, Marie had the opportunity to help with the advancement of projects in Venezuela and Egypt. In May 2009 she joined a delegation to Palestine and Israel and in 2010 participated in the World Education Forum at Ramallah, Palestine. Through her studies in the field of Political Sciences and International Development, she has gained an analytic perspective as well as expertise in the establishment of projects.
