Ligue burundaise des droits de l'homme (ITEKA)

Iteka was established in 1991 at the initiative of a group of executives from various socio-professional categories, including university professors, lawyers, religious etc. It was officially approved by the Ordinance of 6 February 1991, becoming the first Burundian organization human rights to be legally recognized and to work openly in Burundi.
