Reflecting on the World After Fascism
Several organizations are launching a transnational solidarity network against fascism. In partnership with various groups and organizations, Alternatives presents a series of lectures, discussions, and events that lay the groundwork for a coalition aimed at uniting the public around transnational and intersectional struggles.
Reflecting on Transnational Solidarity Against the Far Right and Fascism
As fascism and the far right gain ground around the world, this new context opens up unprecedented opportunities for mobilization, action, and solidarity. Driven by a sense of urgency, organizations and activists from a dozen countries have founded Global Solidarity against Fascism (GSAF). One year later, members of this transnational network will gather for the first time in Montreal to reflect on and build new transnational solidarities against the far right and fascism.
The third Rendez-vous d’Alternatives meeting will address the theme of feminist resistance to the rise of fascism and the far right.
Military escalation: a threat to our security
Several Quebec civil society organizations, including Alternatives, have co-signed this letter to denounce Canada’s forced remilitarization through the Canadian Defense Industrial Strategy. This policy, which has far-reaching consequences, was decided without democratic debate and to the detriment of many vital sectors of our society.
