Building together a different world

The 2009 Quebec Social Forum, it’s TOMORROW!!!

Wednesday 19 August 2009 by Michel LAMBERT

Well, it’s not exactly tomorrow…, but almost!

After its booming success in 2007, the Quebec Social Forum (FSQ) is back at full tilt from the 8th to the 12th of October 2009. The 2009 FSQ offers a forum for exchange, reflection, discovery, culture, and ultimately change.

Alternatives will of course offer a large program of seminars and activities focusing on our main issues: ecology, migrations, social movement, popular alternatives and many more. Furthermore, Alternatives is hosting this year in Montreal the meeting of the International Council of the World Social Forum and over a hundred of activists and intellectuals from the entire world will join us to enrich our debates.

The final program will be available very soon. Please come often to visit us! This event is open to everyone, and is an opportunity for us to come together in order to explore the alternatives put forward by a diverse range of groups and individuals. We expect more than 6,000 participants at the 2009 FSQ, imagining the future of Quebec together.

Lets look forward to "Reimagining Quebec!"

Michel Lambert, Executive Director, Alternatives
