On April 11th, let's say NO to pipelines

Friday, April 11, 2014 - 11:30 - 13:30

Tar sands : WELCOME COMMITTEE for Greg Rickford

In front of the Chateau Champlain Marriott, in Montréal.

The new Canadian Minister of Natural Resources, Greg Rickford, will honor us with his presence on April 11th, from 11h30 to 12h30 in Montréal. His visit is intended to promote tar sands pipelines (Enbridge Line 9B and Eastern Energy by TransCanada) before the Council of International Relations of Montréal (in French, Conseil des relations internationales de Montréal, CORIM).

As we consider it very important to highlight this new minister's first official address, we would like to invite all citizens interested in expressing themselves on the subject of the arrival of new tar sands oil in the east to present themselves in front of the Château Champlain Marriott in Montréal, April 11th, between 11h30 and 12h30.

After the reversal of the Enbridge Line 9B was officiallly approved by the National Energy Board and the announcement of TransCanada's new pipeline (which took place just before the elections) it is important to fight back with a united and mobilized front.

April 11th is an opportunity not to miss to denounce these outmoded pipelines and demonstrate our opposition to the tar sands industry which dictates Ottowa's policies.
