South Asian Women's Community Centre (SAWCC)


The Community Center of South Asian Women is an organization that aims to help women use their full potential in the Quebec and Canadian society in general, and to achieve their independence. It offers:

  • Advice for refugees and new immigrants;
  • Courses in French and English with a babysitting service;
  • An information service general reference;
  • Interpreting services and translation;
  • Information on individual rights;
  • Advice on marital, family, legal, immigration and health;
  • Group activities, discussions, seminars, briefings, etc.;
  • A support network for victims of violence;
  • The average learn and converse in South Asian languages​​;
  • Lunch meetings with participation in food, to promote contacts and integration;
  • A service of volunteers to assist those who need it;
  • Learning workshops in search of work, vocational training, and job training;
  • A service for summer employment for students;
  • Programs addressing the needs of adolescents in the South Asian community;
  • A quarterly publication.

All services are free and are offered in English, French, and in the South Asian languages​​.
