In Memoriam, Vinod Raina (1950-2013)

The entire Alternatives team is staggered by the death of Vinod Raina, our comrade and friend. Vinod was one of the founders of the World Social Forum, a pioneer in the anti-globalization movement. A principle preoccupation of his was to create a discussion and development space and he was a remarkable debate facilitator.

His open ears, his presence and his humanity were fully realized in the context of his committments, notably to Jubilee South, to mobilizations in Bhopal, to the organization of the WSF in Mumbai, to the Alternatives International network and especially in the formation of the spectacular People's Science Movement in India.

Vinod gave us so much with his simplicity, his depth and his presence. We will keep him in our hearts.
