Please note, however, that due to the risks associated with VIDOC-19, our offices are closed to the public until further notice.<\/p>\n<p>We are available from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday to Friday by email khadijam@alternatives.ca.<\/p>\n<p>If you have already taken advantage of our services, you can contact your advisor directly by email.<\/p>\n<p>Take care of yourself!!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here is some information that will be useful to you depending on your situation : <\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><em>The Canadian Emergency Response Benefit (CERB)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The federal government provides a taxable benefit income of $2,000 per month for up to four months to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\u00a0Workers who must stop working because of COVID 19 and do not have access to paid leave or other income support<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\u00a0Workers who are sick, quarantined or caring for someone who is ill with COVID 19;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">\u00a0Working parents who must stay home without pay to care for children who are sick or need extra care due to school and daycare closures;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Workers who still have their jobs but are not being paid because there is not enough work at the moment and their employer has asked them not to come to work;<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Salaried and self-employed workers, including contract workers, who would not otherwise be eligible for employment insurance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: On Friday, April 3, it was announced that essential workers in Quebec whose salary is less than $2,000\/month would receive an increase.This would mean a $400 monthly wage increase. Low-income workers in so-called essential fields will also receive wage increases. These include cashiers, among others. The Government of Quebec will provide special assistance of $400 per month for four months. That is an increase of $1,600 per person. This increase is for employees who earn less than $2,000 a month, which is the equivalent of the Canadian Emergency Benefit introduced by the federal government.
