The project “Violencia hacia las mujeres en linea”, which translates as Violence against Women Online, is a project that takes root in the FOMUJERES competition. Indeed, the Sula Batsu cooperative (https://www.sulabatsu.com/) had the project to build an inclusive platform for women to develop their livelihoods on the Internet. The cooperative therefore obtained funding from INAMU, the National Institute of Women of Costa Rica, to create their project.
It is from this funding that we have considered an online course that women, but not that women could do in order to feel safe in their use of the Internet and social media.
By identifying the many resources available on the subject in Latin America and the world, we realized that the different tools did not tend towards a global approach but worked in silos on the issue. So we decided to create a course that is as inclusive as possible to meet the many needs of women on online violence.
The course is divided into 5 chapters:
1-How does the Internet work?
2- What is violence against women online
3- Tools and strategies to be developed
4- Remedies and resources available at the legal level
5- Resources as additional information
The course is free and open to everyone here: https://educacionsulabatsu.com/courses/violencia-de-genero-en-linea/
