Mark your calendars! We look forward to seeing you at our Annual General Assembly on Saturday morning, November 16. It will be an opportunity to share with you the highlights of our projects carried out over the past year (July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019), as well as to discuss upcoming activities!
Twenty-five years ago, in November 1994, the Alternatives organization was born in Montreal. From its desire for counter-models and transformations in view of social justice and the defense of rights against and beyond neoliberalism and its ravages, Alternatives, – now counting a great deal of experience – , has not wavered in its desire to support projects and ideas that carry political alternatives. It is therefore under the theme of 25 years of alternatives, 25 years of reflection, of work with passionate partners from here and elsewhere, of continuous mobilizations to express the change and hope that are the driving forces of the struggles we support, that we will hold this General Assembly. It is also an opportunity for us to thank our members and all those who have acted with Alternatives over the years, and to underline the strength of your commitment, for many years to come!
And that’s not all! Following the General Assembly, starting at 2:00 pm, the conference Dignity or Death, with our guest Norman Ajari, Ph.D., professor at Villanova University, in Philadelphia, author of the remarkable essay Dignity or Death, Ethics and Politics of Race (La Découverte, 2019)! Not to be missed! (UQÀM, room R-M160).
We look forward to seeing many of you!
