Alternatives Meetings: a series of conversations to encourage reflection and fuel critical debate

All over the world, with renewed fervor, the far right is advancing, trampling on the most fundamental rights, introducing policies that marginalize, exclude, and fuel fear and contempt for minorities, migrants, and immigrants. Like the last convulsions of a world in decline, crises are multiplying and converging, genocides continue with impunity, imperialist tensions are intensifying, and international law continues to crumble in the face of US unilateralism and brutality.

What meaning can we give to the events unfolding during this troubled period? How, in this context, can we continue to nurture hope and solidarity?

Starting this winter, we are offering a series of conversations that will bring together different perspectives on current events. Rooted in our respective commitments and the diversity of our struggles, each of these events is intended to be a moment of sharing, critical reflection, and debate, opening up multiple truths and enriching our understanding of the world.

Conference during the semaine des forums – October 2009

Since 1994, when Alternatives was founded, we have always sought to combat groupthink and its hegemonic aims through publications, radio broadcasts, various media platforms, round tables, workshops, and conferences. These upcoming events are a continuation of this tradition.
