PAIGAM is a media advocacy and action research network composed of academics, activists, and practitioners whose mission is to redistribute social good through a participatory approach. As an aggregator of social efforts, the organization seeks to act as a bridge between academia, media, politics, and activism at the local and national levels.
PAIGAM’s work, philosophy, and goals are strongly focused on the foundations of Indian society—Shramik (labor), Kisan (farmers), Mahila (women), and Paryavaran (environment)—which are marginalized and which each of our projects aims to integrate.
The organization’s vision is therefore to address social, economic, political, technological, ecological, and other forms of inequality and injustice operating at different levels.
PAIGAM has a multidisciplinary, young, and dynamic team of academics, activists, journalists, lawyers, and grassroots community leaders, enabling it to produce innovative, evidence-based research and narratives directly from the field.
The spirit of collaboration is also reflected in its support for partner organizations working locally in advocacy and reaching more people using a variety of digital technologies and participatory research methods.
PAIGAM was registered as a non-profit corporation (under Section 8 of the Corporations Act 2013) on October 21, 2019.
