ENJEU

Food Sovereignty

Description

Alternatives engages city dwellers in both the Global South and the Global North to rethink the city and to rethink the models that underlie food production.

Our efforts contribute to the development of a more participatory, just, and sustainable food system. We support all initiatives that encourage reflection on the role of urban agriculture with the objective of engaging city dwellers in local food systems. Alternatives particularly promotes soilless cultivation methods that make gardening on paved or contaminated surfaces possible (such as rooftops, concrete courtyards, parking lots, etc.), especially in urban areas.
